Meet Barbara Kramer, the heart and soul of Ford Window Treatments. 

As a young girl, Barbara would often visit her father in this family business and immerse herself in the showroom, organizing the many fabric books on the wall.

As she grew older, in her senior year of high school, Barbara participated in the Future Business Leaders of America program where she spent her afternoons working in one of the family’s stores and learning the ins and outs of the window treatment industry. 

With her origins in the window treatment business and her knack for design, Barbara pursued a degree in Interior Design to learn the skills needed for a career she was passionate about. She was employed at two different design firms while in school as well as after graduation and within a few years she made the decision to open her own design company.

In time, Barbara saw her family’s business in need of her creative forward-thinking talent and upon her father’s request, she decided to use her interior design expertise to further the family business. Barbara is now the President of Ford Window Treatments in Miami. 

The Many Hats of Barbara Kramer

It should be noted that Barbara Kramer is more than just an experienced designer and president of Ford Window Treatments, which has been serving South Florida clients for over 70 years. She is also known as Commissioner Kramer, proudly serving the residents of the City of North Miami Beach since 2009.

Her other roles within the city include:

– Liaison to the North Miami Beach Beautification Committee.

– Liaison to the Multicultural Committee.

– Chairperson for the General Employees Pension Board.

– Board of Director for the North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Barbara’s past contributions of volunteerism include board member of the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust and Trustee Member of the Cloisters Foundation of the Ancient Spanish Monastery.
